Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) Benefits
Rich in Antioxidants and Polyphenols
Cold‑pressed and early harvested, EVOO is naturally rich in polyphenols. These powerful antioxidants help protect your cells, support heart health, and may lower the risk of chronic disease.
Good Fats that Support Your Heart
Olive oil is full of heart‑healthy monounsaturated fats like oleic acid. They help improve cholesterol and are a key reason the Mediterranean diet is so beneficial.
Helps Digestion and Gut Health
Extra virgin olive oil stimulates digestion and improves nutrient absorption. It also supports a balanced gut microbiome and is gentle on sensitive stomachs.
Natural Anti‑ Inflammatory Benefits
Oleocanthal, a natural compound in EVOO, has strong anti‑inflammatory properties. It helps the body manage inflammation and may protect against long‑term damage.
Supports Brain and Skin Wellbeing
The healthy fats and antioxidants in olive oil support brain function and cognitive health. They also help protect and nourish your skin from the inside out.
Pure, Versatile, and Completely Natural
Unprocessed and free from chemicals or heat, EVOO retains all its nutrients and flavor. Perfect for drizzling, dipping, and finishing any dish.
How Much Olive Oil Fits Your Life?
Frequently asked questions
Why do you use metal canisters instead of plastic bottles?
We package our oils in lightproof, food-grade metal canisters to preserve freshness and avoid contamination. Unlike plastic, metal does not release microplastics, especially when exposed to heat or sunlight, making it a safer and more sustainable choice.
Why 3L instead of smaller bottles?
By offering larger 3L formats, we can bring premium, cold-pressed olive oil to you at a better price per liter. It also reduces waste and lets you refill smaller bottles at home, so you get both convenience and quality without compromise.
How should I store my olive oil to keep it fresh?
Keep your olive oil in a cool, dark place and away from heat sources like stovetops or direct sunlight. Once opened, we recommend pouring some into a small bottle for daily use and keeping the main canister sealed tightly.
What’s the difference between cold-pressed and refined olive oil?
Cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil is made without heat or chemicals, so it keeps its natural antioxidants, aroma, and flavor. Refined oils go through industrial processing and lose most of their nutrients and character. At Olivessa, we only sell 100% cold-pressed EVOO.
How does olive oil compare to other cooking oils?
Olive oil, especially extra virgin, is richer in antioxidants and healthy fats than most seed or vegetable oils. It is also less processed and more stable at medium cooking temperatures, making it a healthier and more flavorful choice for daily use.
Can I cook with your olive oil or is it only for raw use?
Yes, you can cook with our extra virgin olive oil. It tastes amazing when used raw on salads, bread, or to finish a dish, but it is also excellent for light sautéing and medium‑heat cooking. EVOO has a smoke point of around 180 to 190 degrees Celsius, which makes it safe for most everyday uses in the kitchen. We only recommend avoiding very high‑heat frying, since that is when you lose both flavor and nutrients.
